Cis just means born into the same gender that you identify with. So the majority of people. Like born female or male and identify that way.

But I think this is just for dudes anyway :)

Well, I guess I'm making an assumption on your gender when I realize you didn't say in this thread. So I don't kno w the answer to your question.

However I have known plenty of cisgender people who did not know the term applied to them. To try to explain it a different way. Pretend a person had a muscle condition. Their muscles didn't work correctly. As a result, they learned all kinds of language around the way their muscles worked. One of those terms described muscle function, when it's functioning completely normally. Other terms described when muscles were too weak, too strong, too reactive and on and on. That person knows all those labels because they are such a big part of their life. They know them precisely because they need the labels. Because there's no generic term like "normal" to describe how their muscles function. And as a result they also learn the more term for when their muscles function normally. Another person, who has never had to learn the terminology doesn't know the term for normal functioning muscles even though the term applies to them.
