These days, in the general sense, I think of exercise (defined) as the most tolerable and accessible way to
get my heart doing, and get myself breathing hard. And then sustain that activity for as long as I can, within reason.
It has to be efficient, it has to accomplish the goal of injecting air (oxygen) into my system. Getting the air injected into my blood is what generates a lot of the feel good, clear headed, optimistic and stress reduced (relaxed) sensation I seek.
For me, exercise is mind/body "maintenance".
