Online Based Therapy Recommendations

Anyone know of online based therapy available in Newfoundland, Canada? I'm trying to find something but haven't yet located anything I can access in this province.

Have you tried using Talkspace or BetterHelp? I don't think it matters where you live because it's online. I just did a quick Google search to see if you could use them outside the US, and there was nothing saying that you can't. I've used both, and I like different features of each, but I have to say that BetterHelp does a decent job of matching you with therapists, and they also have a live chat feature. Both services have an app for your smart phone as well. Good luck!

many therapist do email, skype or online message therapy now. I am in the uk but will probably be the same there. I have had skype therapy with my usual therapist when I am on holiday for a month. It in fact works really well and would certainly do it again. check out therapist websites and that should tell you if they offer this most do now.

There is an app called "doctor on demand" created by the popular TV host Dr. Phil . I don't know much about it, but the way I understand it is that it gives you access to medical doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists. The app itself is free, but I know the services provided by the professionals very, as does the price! Please let us know what happens with your online counseling endeavor!

I've been really satisfied with BetterHelp so far, they matched me with someone who has been really helpful and their customer service is very polite and quick to reply. I wish they had some kind of timezone or schedule matching as part of the questions they ask though; live chat only works if you're both online at the same time.

I'm finding BetterHelp very good. The first counsellor I was matched with was not ideal but switched and got a new one who is great.

I'm having less success in finding online psychiatrists. Doctors on demand is us only and the few I have located in Canada are not available to my province.
