Would ask if you need a consult with a pulmonologist before surgery if clotting is an issue. A vena cava filter will keep you from having a pulmonary embolism/PE.

I only "like" part of that message by the way but there is no "compassionate understanding" button or anything to click. :hug: I'm sorry that you're having such a rough road, and hope very much this Ortho. is able to help you properly. Love that you and your wife are decorating your cane! What a positive change and I do hope you'll post it! <3 I have two sets of forearm crutches and they're both bright ;) and a blue wheelchair that I'm painting a mermaid on. Big :hug:

@Bookoffee - I am glad that this new doctor was able to explain everything to you. Even though the recommendation are scary, at least you can know what is going on now and that, for me, would be a little reassuring. I hope everything goes well for you as you continue on this particular journey.
