Our feathered friends, birdbrains, and wingnuts

Soon it will be time for my neighbors and I to start feeding our wild birds. It has been an exceptionally warm years, so we have not done so yet. One thing that did happen that was really cool was that a blue jay landed on the sidewalks about 6 feet away from me! I turned my head to see what made a noise and scared him away though.

Oh yes, they can be very aggressive! Agreed. I knew of one that came swooping down upon some people that got too close to their nest. It was during the time they were nesting and it was quite awesome and disconcerting!!!

@RuffledFeathers Thought you might appreciate this!

I put a fan out and my bird LOVED it. She went up close to it and let the air go under her armpits and shook her tail feathers — almost like she was trying to bathe in the breeze!

Such a little cutie, lol. I wouldn’t have thought wind could be a toy/game!

On Thanksgiving Day I was sitting in Dollar General's parking lot in someone's car when I saw a large bird flying (not soaring) way up high in the air. He or she was heading in a specific direction, flying right over my head. Since this bird was not the usual bird that I see soaring way up high in the sky, I looked more closely to see what kind of bird it was. I have really good eye sight. It was a BALD EAGLE! I feel really happy that probably a pair of these precious birds live somewhere out in our mountains here. WOW! I hope they nest come Spring.
