Our feathered friends, birdbrains, and wingnuts

There is a sparrow that keeps fluttering at car mirrors and attacking them here! It is hilarious to watch, but I pity the poor little fellow, who thinks his woman is being seduced by another male. I watch him day after day, being puzzled when he flutters behind the mirror and the "enemy" is not there! Then he goes back and starts over. Since we have a parking lot here, he has several mirrors to attack, and flitters from one to the other, over and over again, day after day. I wonder how long he will be able to keep this up!

It was a cloudy, raining winter's day. I saw this. Had to do a painting of it. I was not able to photograph it, due to having been on a fast moving bus at the time I saw it.

Robins are here! Spring has arrived!!! I watched today as two males fought just about to the death over some territory and a female. It was awesome to watch as well as dreadful. They seemed very equally matched. Neither won. I'd guesstimate that it was a stalemate.

Because this lot will probably get a kick out of it...

Someone has managed to get the lid off of my mom’s 5o pound tin of birdseed. I suspect the crows, as they teamwork various projects together, and the squirrels just aren’t that organized.

There is currently a teeny tiny songbird Scrooge McDucking in the birdseed! Swimming around, and shaking off like a dust bath, eating a few seeds, swimming around again :hilarious:

I figured maaaaaaybe he was too heavy too fly, so I stood up to investigate, and zip! Off he went. Okay. You fly fine. Did I put the lid back on? :sneaky: Of course not. And he’s back. This is one ecstatically happy bird. Just swimming around in the birdseed. He’s cracking me up something fierce.

Omg, Tweeter would love this!!!

The first morning after we brought Tweeter home, we woke up to the sounds of a very small bird (he was a wee fluffer back then) kicking the seeds from his seed dish out behind him (action: very much like a dog, digging). Until there was just a layer a few seeds deep in the dish and he would get in there and roll around in them. Like 360 degree rolling; either front- or log-.

Such a ratbag, but the happiest cutest one ever.
