Our Pets

g/f cat pete.. Lord of the house of 3 (cats that is) weighing in at 18 pounds (8.2 kilograms) Very temperamental only pet him on his terms, and where otherwise get bite!

My little one (JRT) is out for the count on one of her beds (which is my bed) at the moment:D! Needless to say, I get active daily use of my Dyson!

This is possibly going to sound like the dog rules the roost in my house. But here goes, Muggie sleeps in my bedroom....she's got her own little bed beside my bed....not that her own bed ever gets too much use!

Anybody have any thoughts or experiences on this one....apart from the obvious one that I am possibly the worlds biggest pushover!

So here goes!

Now to explain what she does! When I bring her up to bed last thing at night, Muggie mooches her way under the duvet....nothing too odd in that...she likes the comfort and heat! Next in her bedtime routine is the snuggling. Funny thing is that she only stay's under the duvet and in my bed till I eventually manage to nod off. After that she gets into her own bed, beside my bed. But the minute I wake up, and regardless of whether its the early hours or first thing in the morning, she will then get out of her own bed...she stretches....and then she jumps back onto my bed...mooching her way under the covers, till I either go back asleep or get up!

I am probably over analysing this, but the more I think about it, the more it seems like she's reinforcing the safety of my own room! I might add, I do have ongoing safety issues, and whether she picks up on this, I just dont know.

So that got me thinking, has anybody ever heard of animals been used in this way, or animals doing this full-stop!

I get really jumpy when I'm alone sometimes, and having Maude there helps - she's like a grounding, calming presence. She cares nothing for cuddles and would never bother sleeping with me, though.

This is my little nugget of a dog, Leroy. I don't have any better pictures of him ( :( ), so ignore me. lol

He actually belonged to my abusive ex-boyfriend. Before he became abusive, his family bought Leroy for my ex-boyfriend's grandma (she named him). She passed away a few months later, so his family had to take the dog. About a year after they'd bought Leroy, they moved to a new house out in the country, and didn't want to take him with them - he likes to get into everything and he's white with a few splotches of apricot, so if he gets dirty, you see it very well. My ex-boyfriend's mom asked if me and my family would take him since he was so attached to me (he'd always sit in my lap when I was at their house), and luckily my parents said yes.

He's the sweetest little dog ever. He loves to cuddle, and is very intuitive. I only get to see him when I'm home from college and in the summer, but when I do, he get crazy excited and jumps all over the place. He's the best to have around if I'm having a panic attack, too. He'll just come up in my lap and snuggle up until I feel better.

He's also a great reminder to me that something good can always come out of even the most terrible situations. :)

I am sitting on the sofa whilst on my laptop with my cat curled up next to me and he is snoring his head off lol:roflmao:

It is so loud, I've had to turn the volume up on the TV

Anyone else got a cat that snores?

@kp the nut

Dude! Okay, my cat gallops in his sleep! I'm being so serious I don't know if it's a good dream or a bad one but it's the funniest thing but sometimes it's a little annoying waking up to tiny kitty kicks in the ribs. :O_o: He's a trauma survivor too by the way, I think that's why we're joined at the hip.

Squeak- He looks a lot like my cat I had for 22 years. His name was Jake and was also a trauma survivor. We got him at the shelter and was going to be killed the next day. He died in 2007 when he ran out the door and ate something that shut down his liver. He had to be put to sleep :(
