Tomorrow is Christmas and I hope everyone has a wonderful time. I get to go pick my son up from Arizona so he can come home before he gets deployed back out to Afghanistan (he is a paratrooper in the Army). He is bummed that he cannot bring Kees (his bomb sniffing dog) with him and I can understand that. He had to leave his Camaro in Colorado and his dog in Arizona so he can come home to California. :O_o:

This is the best Christmas present my daughter and I can get. Even though it is a 10 or so hour drive, we are super excited. It's funny because you can't tell if my daughter is more excited about the presents under the tree or seeing her brother. I love watching their faces when they see each other that first time after being apart for so long.

She is 7, he is 21 and their unconditional love for each other brings me to my knees. They are the reason I hold on and fight with everything I have to control the feelings inside me because once they are out (the feelings), I forget about everyone and everything except me and my desires for my pain to be over. For some people that may be impossible to understand and accept and that is okay, for really the only one who needs to understand and accept this is me.

Happy Holidays (where's the Christmas emoticon?)

Hello Ghostybear73,

Merry Christmas!!! I am happy for you and your daughter...and your son, of course. I was in the military many years ago and I have to say that I am very grateful for your sons service to our country. I am sure you are proud of him and for good reason.

I am glad you mentioned your son and daughter's unconditional love for one another, as to my mind, unconditional love is the reason for the season. May I say God bless you and Merry Christmas to you and yours, and thank you for sharing your good news ...it really lifts my spirits.

Bright Blessings,
Lionheart

I wish wondrous tidings of joy for you. For as long as he can be with you ... Embrace not the time you will not have with him; rather, the times he can be with you. As age slowly reminds you of your own mortality, never be ashamed or fearful to love that which you always have. Fleeting moments are just that. But they are still moments.

Have a wonderful time Ghostybear.

I am so glad that they have such a wonderful relationship and that you have the them! My children are the reason that I still have my feet planted firmly on this earth (ages 25 and 27) - I would have given in long ago. They have their own special way of grounding us.

Your son is doing such an important job for his country! You must be very proud.

Have a Super Merry Christmas!

This post made me smile. I am ten years older than my younger brother and I know that whenever I come home to see him we are both always so excited.

Merry Christmas! I hope your day is filled with love and joy!
