My boyfriend was in the Marines when about 3 years ago he was in a convoy that ran over an IED. He wasn't injured, but his friend was effectively blown up in front of him.
We've been dating a year and just moved in together, but that's when I realized how bad he's coping with everything. He never sleeps through the night and will actually get mad enough to the point of breaking out furniture.
I love him so much, but I'm not sure what to do. He will NEVER talk about his time at war. I have no idea what his rank even actually was because he refuses to talk about it. Everything I know I found out from his parents, but we're always shut down because he just starts yelling.
I know he was diagnosed combat PTSD, but I don't know if he's ever looked into treatment. I want to help him and show that I care, but how do I do that without getting yelled at or watch my apartment get ripped apart?
