Sounds like you value it Sarg. I know many folks are into coins. My rant was focused on my disgust of Crats, and the "perceived" pompous use of coins while I was still active. Obviously that perception was tainted by the beast.

Your case sounds valuable, with purpose and the design sounds nice, a photo I'd frame if I was a Nam Vet. I'm glad you have it at the ready to pull out and enjoy Sarg. Frankly, after suffering for as long as you have, I'm glad at anything that provides you a slice of joy or solitude, however fleeting.

To be honest, And also to post my last post for any foreseeable future. Col. A...... and by the way you are the only person on here who has rank as both an avatar name and as a persona. I remember you guys. I remember this rhetoric too well. The deflection of any unpleasantness if it meant upsetting the troops or making yourself look bad. "Oh dear, something bad on the horizon, lets waffle and perhaps be a bit condescending". Because that's good corporate communications training which has also weaseled its way into military leadership training. Nice.

So I can only assume two things about you. Either you threatened Anthony with a lawsuit about some of the rhetoric on here or you are looking re-establish some sort of hierarchy which you lost while in the military. Either way I don't care. You post on every thread. You act like the leader of the gang......there really is no gang...just regulars who are super interested in their own treatment. Most of us here came on a low. You came in high and sailing over everyone. And yes....things do get tough. Milk toast and holiday routine (rooty tooty in my days) don't have a place here. Pity parties are definitely frowned upon......because it leads f*cking nowhere. We know that...all of us.

I mean seriously. "Your case sounds valuable" am I really crazy in thinking this sounds like a recording? "Your call is valuable to us, please hold for further instructions"

But in all fairness, I'm not going on about anything you said or have done. Again.... at this point in my life..going homeless in essence for a third time, I have other concerns. I think my concern would be who you are and what your goals are. Is it so that this is the Col. A advice and welcome forum. Great. Lets rename the place. Are you now in charge? Great. Let everyone know. Don't care. Furthermore as it is perceived that some pointed and sometimes harsh words are considered as threats..... or bullying. I'd advise the administrators to pull their head out of their ass as the allegation would not stand a day in court. I checked............I have lawyers in my wings, it is out of line and has no foundation for legal action. Come on...has anyone read a thread on youtube?

I wonder too about the nick "Col-A'. And I just left a forum because there was a bully on it and he could not stand someone who stood up to him. It's not worth the energy and I am frankly through with fighting.

But, Colonel, some of your phrasing and usage does need to be toned down. I think Wagon is right but I would have said it a bit differently.

One of the reasons why I did not pursue the military as a career is not only that kind of tone, but along with it was the other kind: the ass chewing, the "ear candy" I called it, just so I could easily ignore it. All that is over for me and I would rather not have to spend the energy dealing with it again.

Another thing that troubles me is that you came here to "study" us. It's hard enough to hear some things from a bad psych session than to have to worry about what might show up in print someday. And that includes some of my own original humor that I want to share with guys who understand and appreciate it. Some of Sludge's stuff is highly creative and brilliantly written. (And that does not mean anybody else is not creative. I have seen some real writing here and I enjoy reading it.)

But it's for us, not some academic treatise. My Dad was a colonel and I have met a lot of brass in my life. But I am more comfortable with real people, not tailored uniforms and shiny hat brims and 20 dollar words. I can visualize how that treatise will be read and talked about by the brass. It ain't a pretty picture.

All I would ask is to take a little of the patronizing words out and just be one of us. My background has some academics in it too and I have had the management training. But this is not the office. It's a place where I can be myself. I haven't been there in a long time.
