Welcome, I just caught all of this now. wow. Quite a lot has happened to you and I am glad your getting the 80%. I think the whole situation sucks and you should get all 80% backdated. It would still not be enough to say thanks to you for serving. The Va in general leaves me shaking my head and wondering what were they thinking? 0% for a hole in the head. wow.

Outstanding news, Patrick! I don't know why I didn't see this thread before. Nam Vet also and I did go to the VA forty years ago and if it's any solace to you, didn't get much more than you did. They lowballed me at 10% and I fought for thirty years to get 70%.

Hey Pat,

The VA will only pay retroactive to the date when a claim was put in. So, if you put one in back in '69, I'd say get a lawyer to fight your case for you. It may take some time but go for it and good luck. Gotta' still fight for out rights.
