I'm SO glad to hear some companies still allow that! Ours used to, then last time the new phones arrived without that option, SOOOO wierd! There's not even the option to buy something for mine, so you DO wonder what on earth would be behind this decision, don't you? I'll tell you what, our contract runs out next week, and we're going to CALL customer service of all the companies which service our area and tell them 'Guess what?'. The company who gives us the best deal ( with allll our phones, it's a LOT ) gets our business, which WILL include being able to block numbers.

@Britt, I did that a few months ago. I went to the carrier I have had for over 10 years. Why am I paying $200 a month when they offer unlimited everything for $50 a month.

They had to go through the corporate office as regular management can not make deals.

Cut the bill to $120 for 2 phones. Hmmm I call that time well spent. They call it a "Retention Offer". And surprise I just found out that even though my IPhone does not have call block the service does!

Just keep asking questions is my motto. :tup:

Thanks very much, Whitney! I just read your post to my husband ( sans name, promise.... :) ) because we're in the middle of this discussion right now, he was extremely interested. I'll bet the phone companies dislike this kind of conversation huh? Oh well, they'll live, just without a few of our dollars.

@froggie, Between technology, auto dialers and people with to much time on their hands, it is bound to be nuisance.

Cell phones in the US were not in directories until a couple years ago. They prey on elderly with scams! Why do an honest days work. There will always be criminal elements, and hopefully the good people will continue to prevail! :ninja:
