Some pics of dead trees. I hope there is no metaphorical meaning to these! It's just interesting to look at all the textures at the other end from what we usually look at.

[Warrior Chicken]

Went for a walk, sat by the river with some pretzels and was joined by this Raven. I don’t typically condone feeding wildlife but he sat almost next to me and had a hauntingly familiar shine to his eyes. Maybe we met before and shared pretzels, so he got one ?.
Kept me company for my time at the river.

 

[Tornadic Thoughts]

I really dig the dead tree shots, @Wendell_R . We have some dead Douglas Fir trees on our land and I swear they smell like cotton candy. I respectfully get some of the branches and chop them into tiny pieces and infuse them into oil to use as a moisturizer with a scent my olfactory system very much approves of. It helps me realize that there can be just as much beauty within death as there can be within life, at times.

That raven shot is super special, too, @Warrior Chicken . There's a spot on the parkway not too far from our neck of the woods named after the ravens and I love sitting there in their company. Smart creatures, for sure. I'm pretty much a bird freak and absolutely love them all. Great shot!

Here's the shamrock plant snoozing, @Sophy . Some of the leaves are too crowded to close up all the way, but I hope it's a clear enough shot to see how they go night-night. :)

I love the Shamrock plant, as well, with the red variety my favorite. Yours is a nice healthy looking plant, @Tornadic Thoughts.

Here is another of the Seagull photos taken while at Canon Beach. The second one I posted elsewhere on this site but I will upload it again. If you notice the little placard on the railing, it says not to feed the Seagulls. We never noticed it until we were looking at these photos after we got home. Opps! :laugh:

I have a sad story to tell today. I had a digital camera that was superb in catching close-ups. It also did long shots, but I kind of enjoy getting into the minute details a lot with my photographing. Anyway, I was trying to photograph a rose in the rain and I accidentally got the camera wet! It died. I could not revive it, no matter what I did. Finally I bought another camera, but it was not very good at close-ups and it eventually died too. So now I use my phone and or a little keychain cam that I have. Both are quite good at catching close-ups, so I am pleased. None the less, I don't go out in bad weather with either of them to take photos! And unfortunately, we have had a lot of that lately.... so be careful not to get your digital cameras or phones wet!

Sometimes putting wet camera in rice inside ziploc bag works. Electronic repair shops may be of help too...i noticed repair shops are dwindling too.

I got this shot as a lady was feeding the gull. Its funny posture.

Sometimes putting wet camera in rice inside ziploc bag works. Electronic repair shops may be of help too...i noticed repair shops are dwindling too.

I disposed of the camera long before I heard about the rice trick. I don't know if it would have worked or not. I wish I had known about it! It would have been better to have tried and failed than to have had to throw it out without knowing or trying to fix it. Also, I live way out in the boonies. No repair shops out here!

Guess where I am!

Last time I flew I was in the air during the deadly incident on Southwest...... My mom freaked out until she heard it was a different plane. No, I didn’t sit in 13A, I’m not going to tempt fate!

The rice trick works! We’ve brought wet cameras and cell phones back from the dead!
