It was too cold and windy to hold the camera still enough to get a picture of the eclipse in my neck of the woods, dammit. But it sure was a beautiful sight to see.

This is a pic of my little frame drum that was gifted to me several years ago that I enjoy taking for walks in the woods and using to help meditate. It was handmade and painted by a member of the Monacan tribe that lives just a few hours away. The little foxes were purchased at a roadside souvenir shop along the Blue Ridge Parkway one day in one of my many "pick-a-road" adventures.

I never dreamed that drumming could be a calming activity, by any stretch of the imagination, but it sure has been for me. Percussive instruments can soothe my savage soul like no other. Will share some of my other toys next time I get the camera out to play.

@berlinda, your photo reminds me of a cross between painting styles of Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh. I actually like it. The lighting and movement of the snow created its own art piece! Nice. I showed it to hubby and he liked your picture, too.

The photo I am going to share, I took on a foggy afternoon looking down onto the Columbian River Basin in Oregon, U.S.A.. The rotunda in the distance is Vista Point and is a tourist attraction. There you can see up and down the river valley. The haziness of the photo is a good illustration of how I feel today. I am a bit fuzzed up and not sure what the big picture looks like, but it promises to reveal a large, lush world. There is an element of hope, in the photo, that when the fog evaporates, the view will be clear and defining.

I adore Hydrangeas, especially when I can get right up into their blossoms. I don't know what it is about them. Maybe it is all the different color combinations and shapes of the petals that attract me. They make a wonderful background for a computer screen or a website background. I have also used them on a business card. Whatever their draw is, I needed a pick-me-up, today, and I thought I would share another flower shot with you all.
I hope it lifts your spirit, too. :)
