Ironically enough, after being stung by a bumble bee the night before, one showed up just as soon as I was snapping a shot of this flower....I double checked my clothes when I came back inside this time....lol...all clear....

On a good day with good mood and a good friend i saw this photo opportunity. Friend got annoyed i take so long feeling out the angle of shot. It was well worth it. Someone in the city puts random positive quotes. Whoever you are..THANK YOU

Found this little fella all tangled up in bird netting around our blueberry bush this morning. He's a black rat snake. It looked like he had some cuts on his skin from trying to get loose, so we cut the netting loose around a larger area than trying to get it all off of him, got him untangled from the wire and into a pillow case, and took him to the wildlife center so they could more delicately remove the super tight netting and check for wounds. I took close-ups to verify the identify instead of assuming we were right. He was about 3 feet long.

Will find out his status tomorrow and can hopefully get him back to his home. They said snakes have to be released within at least one mile of where they were found, preferably in the exact same spot, or else it would be similar to taking one of us and putting us all alone in a totally foreign land. (although simply going out in public as of late feels pretty much like that)

I used to not be able to even see a picture of one or see one on tv without having to turn away or shut it off. This was quite a big step today. lol I still get freaked out if it's a surprise and there isn't much space between us, but if I can see them coming, I'm good. Be well little fella...see you soon...

We were serenaded by this little lovely the entire time the rescue mission was underway...

Pretty surreal but my husband is growing plants from his aquarium! I figured we need all the peace symbolism we can get, but this lilly is going to crash into the ceiling soon. Aquarists!!!

Wow! That's one heck of a gorgeous plant scene happening there, @Hopefulphoenix . Nice. :) If only real time peace could grow and take over like that, ay?

The wildlife center called and my little snake buddy, named Sir Hiss by the hubby, only had very minor superficial wounds. Yay! I picked him up this morning and brought him back to his 'hood and released him. I assumed he'd slither off pretty hastily once out of the pillow case, but he stayed perfectly still and hung out for quite a while. Eventually, he took off to go tell his friends and family about the crazy lady who helped set him free-ish, then tossed him in a damn pillow case and took him to some strange place, then brought him back. Hahahaha! Welcome home, Sir Hiss. :) Please don't sneak up on me, buddy.

Good on you, @Tornadic Thoughts ! This reminds me of one time that I risked jumping out in front of vehicle to grab a box turtle and save it from being squished. Eventually we brought it to a turtle sanctuary in Southern New Jersey. There we watched it wander off into a valley.
