Oh wow. The red-winged blackbird pic disappearing took my breath away a little, in a good way.
That's the bird that I connect so deeply and dearly with my mom, as I'd typically only see them when I went to her house and would stand outside and soak up the sound of their calls.
Then one arrived outside of her hospice room door the day before she passed, which was in a different area from where she lived, and after that, I'd see them damn near every time I ventured out.

I'm still waiting to see an owl in these woods. I hear them almost nightly in the summer, but haven't seen one outside of captivity, yet.
Here's one from January of last year taken outside (through) my bedroom window. I very likely shared it before as it's one of my favorites. One of my most beloved buddies perched in the old oak tree eyeing it's next meal...
