Oh wow. The red-winged blackbird pic disappearing took my breath away a little, in a good way.

That's the bird that I connect so deeply and dearly with my mom, as I'd typically only see them when I went to her house and would stand outside and soak up the sound of their calls.

Then one arrived outside of her hospice room door the day before she passed, which was in a different area from where she lived, and after that, I'd see them damn near every time I ventured out.

Thanks for that heart smile, along with the other feathered friend photos. They all make me happy. ?

I'm still waiting to see an owl in these woods. I hear them almost nightly in the summer, but haven't seen one outside of captivity, yet.

Here's one from January of last year taken outside (through) my bedroom window. I very likely shared it before as it's one of my favorites. One of my most beloved buddies perched in the old oak tree eyeing it's next meal...

After a heavy and heartfelt conversation with a former co-worker at the grocery store yesterday, I decided to (finally) take my camera for a walk in the park to visit the feathered friends that live and play there.

It was very therapeutic and definitely made me smile, repeatedly. Glad I didn't talk myself out of it.

Those colors on its head, especially in the sun, are ever changing, such is life...

This one was riding the waves of the near by stream, then would stop at the rocks and cross the hurdle, then get right back in the flow...

I felt especially moved by this lovely creature. Those fluffy flowing feathers and those eyes...

The swans have always been a favorite of mine...

Spent a lot of time walking outdoors today, enjoying the rare clear blue sky, warm-ish sun, and cold breezes. I spotted what I thought was one red-tailed hawk off in a distant tree, but soon noticed it was two...awwww...

Then managed to capture a rare halfway decent shot of one of them in flight, then put the camera down to enjoy their beautiful breeze surfing right above my head....those moments are pure joy to me...

Then I went and hugged a double tree....

And paid close attention to the contrast of the ones that were still holding on to leaves that have long since died, and the ones right behind them that are already filling out with new growth, and how they all manage to co-exist in the same space...feels good to share the energies of that space as I listen to the water flow by in the stream right next to them...so.much.gratitude.

Spent more time today venturing out under clear blue skies, hugging trees, and sitting at my favorite stream-side spot, focusing a lot on the mossy patches among the dead leaves at the edge of the stream.

So much new abundant growth in those tiny worlds being fueled by the flow and hydration of the water and the nourishment of all the dying things.

I didn't notice until after I looked at the pic I took that the reflections on the water appear to be little hearts in a couple places.

Thanks for always being there in the coolest of ways, universe. It's good to know my heart wasn't alone as I spoke to those I've lost and those who are suffering so deeply right now.
