Physical Pain?

I just got threw vomiting a over the pool table I was laying on ( gross, I know ). Does anyone else get really terrible pains in the abdomen before a flash back? The pains made me sick, and I don't know what to do.

Firstly, it is easy to attribute one thing to another. So do get checked out by a doctor to make sure those pains and sickness isn't the start of an intestinal problem. Yes, I get pain that related to my flashbacks, and I have thrown up during flashbacks. I have been reading a really good book on the connection between the body and PTSD and how these physical symptoms come from it. It's called the body remembers and it's by Babette Rothschild.

IValer My PTSD is every bit as much physical as emotional. I tend to get muscle spasms, back pain, constipation. My mind can handle only so much anxiety, trauma and depression before it shuts down. Then the energy from all of those emotions get trapped inside my body and manifest as physical pain.

Feel better, friend!

I have body memories that interrupt my life, sometimes extreme pain always in the same places. I've been cleared medically, but do have a herniated disc in my lower back that is contributing to pelvic pain. I get regular adjustments at the Chiropracter for that.
Anxiety and flashbacks most often make me puke. Too much adrenaline for the body? Maybe it has to relieve us of the load. Because once I've thrown up I feel better.

The only other thing I've had is ovarian cysts, but I'm clear currently. As far as getting sick goes, it probably was the adrenaline levels and panic getting to be too much. I always used to get ill at the T's office.

Just something to consider. Are you on any prescriptions? I just realized recently medicines (only 2) I've been on have increased gag effect when brushing teeth, and then even chewing gum for too long now. Got steady worse over time. I've vomited more in past 6 months than entire life.

muscle spasms

I never even considered muscle spasms past several years could be related. But looking back with when/where they happened (seriously painful in calve that I want to walk them off, try, not happening. Worse physical pain I've ever felt.) I started taking electrolytes supplement that seems to help, but could be the 2 prescriptions I'm on for anxiety - and getting off of for those who have read my other post.

@Sammyiam I used to have this. I fixed it by doing thing that made my stomach valve open up and allow me to burp. I woudl stand in the shower, bend over, put my head back and make a silent scream and a gurgle noise in my throat. I would do it three or four times and then I would burp or almost do a vomvom in my mouth. That was my signal that the top stomach valve had relaxed and I immediately would feel better, not sick at all.

Since I started on Zyban (wellbutrin) this has gone completely. I can now burp all day and I poop like clockwork. My guts is finally relaxed.
