One worker keeps saying: "You need to let it go..."
My response tends to be: "How?"
The same worker has said to me: "Only when you accept it, will you feel better..."
Me: "What do you mean by accept?"
Worker: "Do you acknowledge what has happened to you? Are you comfortable with what happened to you?"
Me: "yes" to the first question and "no" to the second.
Worker: "Have you accepted it yet?"
Me puzzled: "I guess not."
His solution to my fear of going places: "Meet me at the Mall of America. When you arrive I will text you where to find me. When you are done with that, then any other place will seem harmless."
Luckily, my therapist put a halt to that therapeutic intervention when he double checked with her.
Some sessions frustrate me so much that I am ready to be done and others are so helpful that I begin questioning my own sanity.
