I think it's well to expect that people (especially in this forum) aren't trying to be rude or dismissive of others' feelings. Generic replies can be helpful or not, depending on the situation, and they should be replied to on a case by case basis. It's hard to do, but the world is better when you just assume that most people don't mean to be hurtful with their words. Keep on being thoughtful.

Edit: I often say unhelpful things while trying to be compassionate and supportive, and it's good when people tell me if it's not helping them. Better when they trust me enough to know that I meant to be supportive and correct me kindly.

Theres certian things that i carry over from my job, certian words that were arent supposed to say as it sounds rude no matter your tone of voice: Like I said, as I already said/stated, if you recall what i said/stated already/earlier (on my last post)...or if you recall that i already stated (posted) XYZ. And then theres other destructive ways to state anything which will often charge negitive emotions and then a constructive way to state the exact same thing. Im not perfect, of course, but i do my best to use constructive words and not destructive words. I also try my best to state that this is my opinion, in my experience, in my view etc.

Again, Im totally not perfect and all of this goes out the door at times when my own emotions are charged but i do my best to do so. And nothing that i state is empty to just pacify. Why reply then? If i state i understand, i truely do and i usually state a small amount of my experience so they get that i do truely "get it".
