This was a hard one when I first heard it many years ago, but it is the truth and it is good. thanks for sharing.

When I finally dared to believe that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13) there was a shift. No, the problems didn’t go away, but how I viewed them after that made such a difference. I can now experience the presence of the Lord in the midst of the chaos. I can see the beauty of the roses in the midst of the thorns. I recognize all of the miracles that happen all around me, and I am so thankful and so blessed in spite of it all. All glory to our Heavenly Father, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the precious Holy Spirit, who lives within each end every believer.

@PamelaS - I hear you on that one! I'm seeking the blessings in terms of renewed purpose in midst of this stormy season of my life, I suppose.

Without my faith and relationship with my Father, I wouldn't be here. I am beyond grateful for His presence and intercession, for His purpose for my life, and for the promises. I'm hanging on so very tightly to those. I'm also so very grateful to be able to connect here with you and @Defaultxlove and @In the weeds in the natural.

I pray that each of you has a blessed day, surrounded by His love-light. VB

I don’t know if you have seen the movie “I could never imagine,” but it is about the lead singer in MercyMe. He had a rough life too. But God has certainly used him for good and for God‘s glory. As we go through these things, that’s where God wants our mind to go. He wants to use us and our pain to bring goodness into the world for all of the others who are suffering in the same way that we are. He promises to bring good out of all of our suffering. That’s what makes it bearable, knowing that we are sharing God’s love and our testimony to encourage and bless others and to point them to Jesus. I pray blessings over you and over all of us here trying to sort out the mess that has been created in our lives. Search for the joy in the middle of it. Search for any single thing that you can be thankful for. Because no matter what, we can always find something to be thankful for, even if it is the smallest thing like a piece of bread to eat. Bless you and keep on moving forward. Thank you for the music videos that you share. I can’t even imagine trying to do this without soothing music that heals my soul. So many nights I played it through the night in my earbuds or headphones. It soothed my mind and soaked into my bones, so it became a part of me. One day at a time. One step at a time. Always with the Lord and always moving forward. All glory to God.

I have seen the film about MercyMe. I loooooove MercyMe's music. So much of the older music, I guess, is what I hold most tightly too. Have you seen the movie about Jeremy Camp? I found it very encouraging. If you haven't, it's well worth a look.

As an aside, does anyone read Jesus Calling or Jesus Always by Sarah Young?

Praying for those in the Middle East, that the peace holds in some way and that a way forward is found where people can live together without what has been before. So very happy that the living have been returned to their families and hopeful that those who are no longer with us will soon find their way home as well.

Praying too, that peace and/or relief will find its way to other parts of the world where far too many are losing their lives. Life is too precious to be spent warring with one another or in having backs turned and eyes averted while others suffer and/or perish needlessly.

Big prayers sending out lots of love light and blessings, hoping the wind will catch them up and carry them on to where they are needed.

I praise God for the opportunity to share with all of you here our burdens and our pain, as well as the blessings and joy that the Lord gives us in spite of it. Thank you for sharing this real song of lament and yet with God, peace. As a baby Christian in my 30s I grew up with Amy Grant and the powerful music that God gave her. I just saw an interview of her on YouTube not long ago. Brought back many beautiful memories.
Yes, I saw Jeremy Camp’s movie as well, and Rebecca St. James’ family, Unsung Hero (King & Country) My daughters grew up with Rebecca St. James and we met her at a Creation festival. It’s beautiful how God has used these peoples lives to share their stories of his faithfulness in spite of the pain. I’m so very thankful for the blessings and the joys that the Lord has brought out of all of the tears. All glory to God for providing beauty for the ashes in our lives. Have a peaceful day resting in the arms of the Lord as he carries us through one more time, ever so gently in the arms of his love.
