I don't have a lot of experience of childbirth (I have two kid's so that's the extent of my knowledge", but when my first was born he wasn't breathing and they had to hit the panic button or whatever signal they had to get the doctor there quick.
I had been given the job of recording the times between contractions and I carried it out to the letter, I had pages covering a good 12 hours. So when my son was born I saw every second pass that he wasn't breathing, it was recorded as 3 or 3 1/2 minutes, yet I know for a fact that it was over 7 minutes.
It was the happiest and worst day of my life all mixed up in one. He is a healthy 25 now.
Very grateful that you think to come back here to let us know how things are going, I think it is part of this condition that we look out for our friends and even if we are unable to do anything we want our friends to know that we are with them.
