Prazosin And Ptsd-related Nightmares

Has anyone taken Prazosin for their nightmares? My psychiatrist just prescribed Prazosin and Sertraline after discovering that I had PTSD and nightmares.

Yep - I take prazosin. It helps.

The prazosin did help me sleep.

The setraline made me extremely disoriented and suicidal for the first few weeks. It was nuts. Everyone encouraged me to stay on it because it takes time. Glad I did. My anxiety and depression have subsided considerably. I'm like 4 months in now. I already want to talk about weaning off now- because now my only source of anxiety is the fact that I'm on medication for my anxiety. Ugh.

Prazosin really helped for my nightmares for several years. Then eventually it stopped being very effective, so my psychiatrist switched me to clonidine, which is also a blood pressure med that does the same thing. It's helped for several years, too. I hope you're getting some relief from it :-).
