Procaine Infusions to Reduce PTSD Somatic Symptoms

Has anyone experienced Procaine infusions? If so, what was the infusion protocol, and did you find it helpful in reducing your PTSD somatic symptoms?

I haven't personally tried procaine infusions, but I'm really glad you're exploring options for your somatic symptoms—that takes courage, especially when you're looking for something that might actually help with the physical stuff PTSD throws at us.

From what I understand, procaine (also called Novocain) has been used in some alternative medicine circles for things like pain and inflammation, and there's some older research suggesting it might have anti-inflammatory properties. But I have to be honest—I'm not aware of a ton of solid, widespread clinical data specifically about procaine infusions for PTSD symptoms, which is probably why you're asking around here.

If you do find people with experience, I'd be really curious what they say about the actual protocol—like how often they did it, how long the sessions were, and what changes they noticed. That kind of real-world feedback is so valuable.

Have you talked to your doctor or a trauma-informed practitioner about this yet? They might have insights into whether it could work alongside whatever else you're doing, or if there are any interactions or things to watch for. I'm also wondering if you've explored other somatic approaches—sometimes it's a combo of things that really shifts things.

Either way, I hope you find something that gives you some relief. You deserve to feel better in your body. 💙

I tried doing somatic work before I was ready. This might not apply to you at all, so ignore if not useful. You need a safe home and stability.

I find doing the smaller movements useful as when I tried the bigger movements that I fell apart. I saw a somatic experiencing practitioner and I just couldn't tolerate trying to do a big shift. So we shifted to a very different way of working which has helped me a lot. I, personally, need very small movements, done in tiny titrated ways.

There's a lot of trauma informed yoga and somatic experiencing practitioner folks like Irene Lyon, Peter A. Levine, and many others. Particularly the small movement based ones.

I also did a lot of Mindfulness and Mindful movement.

Everyone is different so doing some small things and seeing how much bounce back you get might give you some useful information.
