I am 39. married with 2 small children. About 6 years ago, I have been treated with medical negligence.I don't much feel like describing in detail. Anyway it has caused me tremendous physical suffering for 2.5 years, and some suffering still goes on today. It has been very difficult for me because of shame to talk about it, but I have met and talked with a few therapists since then . And it was very helpful.

I feel that most of the anger has gone. Still I feel tremendous sadness, and feeling of loss. Feeling of regret. like what have happened, has been a mistake of god, or life or something like this. Though it is much better then before.

I feel it is very disturbing also for my concentration, functioning and ability to enjoy.
Many times I have cried and felt the pain, and I have realized the pain and loss are so big that I cant expect them to go soon or easily.

I don't feel like I want to talk to a therapist anymore about it. I feel like I have talked enough about it.

Talking for 25 years gave me intellectual understanding of me and the human condition only. It did nothing for the inside of me, nothing to change my system's dysregulation. Body work like Somatic Experiencing is helping me.

When I had no joy in my life, I was depressed. I didn't feel anything but numb or despair over feeling numb. If you are feeling sadness and grief, maybe you are grieving, but not depressed. But if it isn't moving on, maybe consider what you haven't tried before.

For me, the answer is primarily discharging emotional energy in the tissues.

FYI, it may be good to know of a method called somatic experiencing therapy, which doesn't require you to re-live or talk about the past. It's based on body sensations and observing your deep emotions and sense of self, no attempt to read anything out of these things, just becoming comfortable in the present moment. I can't provide a link, but Google "about somatic experiencing therapy" or "traumahealing" and you can easily find this organization. I just thought this information can be helpful. This therapy helps me in regard to a couple medically related things that happened to me. You can also read the book "waking the tiger" by Levine (also an excerpt on the website) it is helpful on its own or can help you decide if you need a therapist trained in this method to help you. Again, the main benefit, is this therapy is super gentle and doesn't require you to focus on memories or talk about them.

Hi Jivangilad,

Welcome to the forum!

Although there are many forms of therapy, it is best to deal with the issues surround PTSD with a trauma therapist. You may want to check out the therapy section of this forum, along with the other topics. I hope you find the information helpful.

I have downloaded a book of Levine from soundstrue.
I also got the video of Trauma release exercises (by David Berceli).
I feel already much benefit, and I am enthusiastic about connecting more to the body, and releasing body stress/ blockages.
Thanks a lot for your responses!
