I have "Neurodermitis" (the dictionary gives me "neurodermatitis" as an English equivalent) which is why I want to come off all sugars.

Maybe it's difficult for me not only because of the lack of money but also because I never learned about foods, cooking, etc. Almost all I know now, is owing to me consciously learning it. I.e. nobody ever showed me how to cook or what is good for what reason, etc. Also, I never grew up with any rules or routines other than that my mother was God and I had to do exactly what she wanted, 24/7, which was no healthy behaviour whatsoever.

What I'm trying to say is, that Springer said that she cooks lots of vegetables. I don't cook regularly. I can't either. I could with a very strict routine plan, but I can't just live and things come to me automatically. I.e. I will simply forget to cook. I will also know maybe two dishes with brokkoli: soup and fried rice. I would probably have to take courses in all areas of life all the time to catch up on all that I missed. It's all I've been doing anyways, learning to actually live life, and it's very tiresome to find that despite all I have accomplished and made myself and my life to be, I know very little about the actual basics. Has made me quite sad lately.

By the way, for those who have chocolate cravings and have ended up on the coffee thread  :

I usually retreat to at least 90% cocoa chocolate when having a craving, but preferably a 100% one. The 100% one has NO SUGARS, so it's very strong and it can only be eaten very slowly, I find. The 92% that I currently have at home as 92% of cocoa and sugar. Because of the sugar, it's better to eat (yummy), but it has sugar. Problem is, the 100% one is real expensvie and there's only one kind I really like the taste of, i.e. I'll actually like to eat.

Saying this simply because normal chocolate I can eat a whole bar of if it's a real bad craving, but no matter how bad the craving, I never eat more than two pieces of the 92% or 100% cocoa chocolate, simply because it's too strong. Also, no kidding, there must be something in the high-cocoa chocolate to help with depression/nervousness/anxiety. It sincerely makes me feel better, whereas normal chocolate doesn't do anything for me but taste good. :)

ended up on the coffee thread :

Thanks for sharing all the information Prime-No. Interesting! I have not had coffee since I was about 10 years old and it has an extreme affect on me. I shake like a leaf. Did not know about the other things you mention.

d it can only be eaten very slowly
But I do eat chocolate! And often. ;) And I am pretty much on the same page as you as to what I like and what I eat. I actually hate the sweet stuff. :)

Lichen simplex chronicus must be very uncomfortable and horrible to deal with Prime_No. I have chronic general itching and some patches of eczema and that is bad enough.

I feel you on this one SO MUCH Prime no. I had no idea how to cook, how to clean, how to parent- I had to learn it all as an adult. The cooking one seemed easiest to tackle, so I watched the food network non stop whenever I had the tv on. A year later even my abusive ex was telling me I cooked the best food he'd ever had. I consider it that I was taught by the experts ;)

Maybe you could do that on your computer or tv?

Okay so Anthony says, no direct rips from magazines....BUT nothing to stop anyone writing out recipes and posting them. Copying them out is a bit of a headache, so you could scan them into a word doc, reformat it and paste it over onto the forum?
