PTSD and sex?

I let my vet take the lead. He doesn’t have any sexual issues, but if he is symptomatic it does effect his drive. If I try to initiate and he doesn’t respond, that’s my cue. Typically he is all for it, so I know that when he is not responsive he is not doing well. Over the years I’ve learned to recognize that as one of his “tells”... a sign that his stress cup is filling. It’s not about me, it’s all him. That’s just the way the ball bounces.

Do you recommend just to go on the sufferers lead?

My boyfriend always lets me initiate. He doesn’t ever want me to feel pressured. Since he started doing this, my flashbacks during sex have dramatically gone down. It helps that I’m the one with the higher sex drive.

Does anyone else feel initiating sex put pressure on a sufferer ?? I have brought our sex life up to my other half before and my other half gets a bit flustered at this topic. . Do you recommend just to go on the sufferers lead?

Nope.

I think it’s mostly personal preference.

The whole spectrum thing of different people Love-Like-Don’t Care One Way or Another-Dislike-Hate the exact same thing. Whether it’s initiating, or talking about it, or any other aspect of sex.
