That is a tough situation and quite frankly, if I was interviewing you that would be awkward indeed. The great thing is that references can be anything. You volunteer? Even assist someone work in the yard? Work is work - paid, volunteer, etc. They want to see your character and work ethic. Worse case scenario, volunteer once a week. Great way to network as well. Being creative is a must in this day and age.
I hope there are some resources in your area. Possibly check out local chambers and other business organizations. I don't know if you are familiar with Linkedin, but check out jobs and you can see career profiles of others and how they are marketing themselves.
