he was often funny for funnies sake but i always thought this one seemed to apply to me pretty well. how many times have i bought in to a lie i told myself or one that i was told? this is the thought that crosses my mind when the wool comes off my eyes.

I thought about this in seriousness, and I thought, several times if I'm honest- 'take the quote for the year' from a free calendar I needed to use last december, "Perfect love casts out all fear". Because I need that.

Though I will use the sh*t-for-brains one above, sometimes , in my thoughts. ;):)

don't make a resolution for the new year, pick a slogan

im going to double quote you here... I made a New Years Revolution a long time ago to never make another New Years Resolution, but instead to make changes to my life as I deemed I needed to. (Don’t wait for an excuse to do it, do it!).

But this one??? Slogans I might could do! :sneaky:

We borrowed this from the Jewish school nearby when we were homeschooling... every year they picked a theme (Respect was the first one I knew about), and every month they looked at a different aspect of their theme (respecting your elders, respecting yourself, respecting the law, respecting truth, respecting kindness, respecting fear, etc.) and kids would bring in little examples of how they were using those themes and aspects in their daily lives. Because they’re kids... this also got hilarious. The monthly themes were all voted on, and a kid could choose to do both the assigned theme, and their own choice (no extra credit, just kudos). My kiddo’s best friend chose “Respecting bodily functions!” :hilarious: It was a joke, but it became a group theme in the end... resulting in field trips to the hospital and the sewage plant and wind tunnel at the U (where they do a lot of crash test dummy type stuff, designing safety measures to protect drivers, pilots, passengers, etc.)

So yeah... yearly quote or slogan? That’s doable. I like.

Yes my only resolution has been to not make one either. Takes the pressure off for New Year's Day. :)
