I think it boils down to this.... we are self policing. we medics talk together, we would spot someone posing as one in a sec... same for tankers, infantry etc... theres enough of each here to vet them... I couldnt tell you if someone was posing as infantry... I have talked privately with a Marine or two questioning the validity of someone claiming to be a Marine tho.. All the medics have been spot on though.... lol not a glorious enough position for a poser to wanna claim to be I guess...but I think each profession has enough of the real thing to spot someone claiming to be what they aren't

And on the bluetooth thing... I hate being in the grocery store and you are walking down the aisle and some nut job with the bluetooth suddenly exclaims "Hey man!!!! I havent see YOU in awhile!!!!" It gets you all happy till you realize they aren't talking to you......

Other than the "stolen valor" bunch, I don't understand what the lure would be to the average civilian dunce, anyway. We speak in such intangible concepts, so far removed from anything they've experienced, or ever will experience, that they would soon get bored and move on.

Then you have the trolls. Trolls are the sewer rats of the internet. You could put retina recognition cameras on all our computers and the little buggers would defeat it and get in. Their entire reason for existance is to create a disturbance. Once done, they move on.

Tanker, maybe I'm just in a shitty mood or something this morning, but I really don't think the public gives a damn about us or what we have to say. I think they are so centered on Mickey D's and their 21 inch chrome spinners and their 103 inch flat screens that we get lost in the clutter.

So say what you have to say, the people on this site, the one's that really count, know and understand.
