Around the end of 2009 things were really bad and I my GP put me on Paxil. Then Xanax which seriously freaked me out. I had never known anyone with a script for Xanax. The only knowledge I had of it was from my junkie ex husband. BTW I didn't know he was a closet junkie until we had been married a couple of years.

Anyway, I started seeing a therapist which lead to a psychiatrist. My anxiety was dominant. Most of the day I was in tears or on the verge of tears. When I was at home I was in bed, wrapped around my dog. So they all decided I needed to be medicated, something about my brain healing.

My ex was stalking me, he found me because my employer had posted my name and contact info on their web page without my knowledge. This means he was calling me at work. All my employer would do is change my phone number and because I was not going to stop asking them to. He kept calling and then found me on Facebook. Once he started this I was pretty much a mess. My supervisor, in her twenties and not qualified, doesn't like any form of weakness. She was writing me up as much as possible.

In early 2010 while in tears I asked my therapist if I had PTSD. She nodded and said that was definitely what the problem was. She wrote a letter for me to give to HR because of the crap with my supervisor. They did nothing about enlightening her and allowed her to continue to abuse my triggers. She suspended me without pay in 2011 and I filed a complaint stating that there were issues with my supervisor and all that information was ignored, my case denied. The result of this was transferring me to another position, one that I could physically not do. I told them this immediately and repeatedly but they forced me to report to another facility to do manual labour. They never gave me a job description so I couldn't go over the requirements with my doctor before I was informed of the transfer.

Once I got the paperwork and got it back from my doctor my employer said that they could not accommodate the restrictions from my doctor, that they had no position for me and that I could not return to work. I did not work a single day in 2012 because of this. The only money I got was from donated leave, my father sending me his social security money and finally unemployment which was a fight. My credit was destroyed. I finally got the right to sue letter from the EEOC.

Then things changed but not really in my favour. I had surgery in 2012 and was better in that regard so the restrictions were loosened by my doctor. I was offered my old job back, the job they made me transfer to and one other that was away from most of the management responsible for all this. I felt I could not resume my original position. You see, I was one of two people that do that job. After I was displaced they hired the brother of the other person. Neither one of them has a college degree of any kind much less the type specified as a requirement. I had to take the job with a different group of people. My employer has still done nothing in ensure that those above have a clue about PTSD.

The job I took was a demotion (they problem supervisor was promoted) and now I'm pretty much in the same situation I was at the original position. Supervisor doesn't have a clue and documents all of my behaviour. Shit hit the fan for me last Friday and I'm a bit anxious about tomorrow. They told me to call into the supervisor I have now to find out where I should be reporting but after the confrontation on Friday there is no way I am going back there. I think my best option is to report to the nurse's station at my normal time and tell them to deal with it. Until they can figure something out I see no reason to return. That's torture.

Anyone else been though this? How am I ever supposed to be productive with this employer? From what I understand triggers in the work place qualify for workman's comp. Why aren't they acting responsibly? This is a major municipality, it's all about covering your ass.
