Rules of Running

Just wondering what other sufferers have agreed on with their supporters in terms of guidelines/rules that must be adhered to when you need to bolt/run far away.

I had my first major running experience last Friday but it only lasted two days before I came back.

Fortunately I was forgiven. He wants me to agree to never run again, but yeah, I cannot promise that, and that's why I'm looking to establish rules that can be set in place i.e. you can go but must check in every so often, etc.

Thanks.

PS Please don't tell me to not run. When in run mode I am also in DGAF mode so getting me to respond to a text is doable while staying put would feel like excruciating pain.

I need to give a rough idea where I am (with the understanding they're not going to try and get to me, just to show I'm safe) and give a rough idea when I think I'll be back, and if it's going to be longer then to check in n say "actually, gimme another week" or whatever.

It seems like you know you need this but if I were in your shoes, I would try to some positive ways to spin and adapt. For example, can you do the run without the emotional charge. Like mini vacation and see how you communicate and also let your partner practice when you are not there so it is normal like Eva is gone...she will be back.

Can you talk about it to death so it is not a big secret or a big deal that requires a lot of rules. It is like Eve is gone and needs her space....

I think the approach of this is much better and takes away the power-struggle and rule making.
