I have book a B&B for 2 nights. It is on Gillygate, which is 1) near my daughter and 2) about 10 minutes walk to the Museum Gardens. It is £28 per person per night.

I have added their details and details of another B&B close by, to the PC for Crafty Cath.

Great news Ice_Fire, so glad you will be joining us.

(I need to remember to bring my Teddy, my camera some suntan cream and a hat (just in case we get nice weather)!

Ah Amethist, if you have booked and payed for the good weather then it WILL be good (or else I can see someone releasing the dobermans!)!

I've got a cuddly lamb that can be microwaved to heat it up so I could be bringing roast lamb to the picnic.

The Museum Gardens look lovely and just a short walk along the river from our guest house. I can't wait to explore!

Oh, I'm glad I haven't missed the picnic :) but not sure how I can make it. I can't afford it, but my credit card can! I would have to come down myself though, which is worrying me.... I have a very bad sense of direction. What if I got lost? It's not like I can shine a bat signal into the sky or anything :(.

I need to consider this more though I think. I want to meet people like me, because it might help, althiugh coming down alone might not be too safe.

@KP and Ice: Can you PM some details of the cheap as chips places please? I'm on a student budget! Thanks.

Hi rainy_daze

If you feel you could get lost, we could arrange to meet you somewhere easy, and you could share your phone number with one of us to keep in touch.

We all know how scary it can be, but quite a few of us met up in Birmingham earlier this year, and KP and I have met in York a couple of times already.

It is scary, but we all feel connected, because of the PTSD.

That would be a great idea Amethist. I feel silly for worrying so much, but I'd probably end up lost and scared - and I think a taxi back to Scotland because I'm so lost would be breaking the bank really ;).

When I look more into trains and a place to rest my head I will PM you :). If I book something and pay for it I won't be able to back out of it, because then it becomes a plan and feels official. I usually arrange to meet socially and then I can't face it, if I'm honest.

Are there rules on what kind of teddy to bring?
