Seeking Counseling For The First Time

Yesterday, I took the first step. I sought counseling at the counseling and psychological services in my university. I verbalized my story but did not discuss anything specific about my abuse. I felt relieved to get that off my chest. The woman whom I was speaking with said that this was going to be a rough road, especially when I start going into the breadth of the abuse in future sessions. Wish me luck in this journey! That is a huge step. That first conversation is the most difficult. From here on, it won't be a smooth road, but your T will be there to 'hold your hand' and guide you into the difficult places in your head.
