Self Confidence And Work

This part is definitely throwing me off. I feel like I have no idea - no frame of reference as to what I am good at anymore.

I think when we're doubting ourselves and lacking self-confidence, questions like 'what am I good at?' can feel huge and overwhelming...it can be difficult to know where to start, so the quickest and easiest reply to ourselves is often 'NOTHING!' ;-)

Maybe start by thinking about what you've enjoyed about work that you've done before - we often enjoy/are interested in the things that we're good at or that play to our strengths.

There will be lots of things you're good at - we all have skills :-) You just need to pick things apart a bit to identify a few. If thinking about job skills is more difficult (perhaps because you feel that you can't do the job you loved anymore - I think this is how you feel but apologies if I've misunderstood?) think more broadly about some of the 'soft skills' you possess.

I'm just starting to do this myself at the moment - I got made redundant at the start of this year and am now taking some time out to really reflect on what I want to be doing, what's going to suit me, how I want to work etc. So I'm looking at things like, what did I enjoy most/least about my last job (and previous jobs), what things did I get most positive feedback/recognition from other people about, what kind of environment would I ideally like to work in, what would my ideal working day structure look like?

Lots of luck :-)
