News Service dog diagnosed with ptsd?

Yep, can't post a link, but it's in my yahoo news feed...

A bomb sniffing dog officially diagnosed and in therapy! I guess it's not surprising, but then again it is!
 
Yes, I saw this on TV awhile ago.

I'm sure many dogs do, ones that were abused and neglected. They are pretty sensitive creatures.

But it does seem to trivialize it in us more.
 
Awww poor dog, I wonder what therapy they are doing for the dog.

I will admit, I do EFT therapy sometimes on one of my dogs who is dog aggressive, and it calms him right down. Healing touch therapy for animals can also work pretty well, I know someone who does it for a shelter and they have seen some great results.
 
That's interesting ... but like with the pavlov dog experiment, a simple trigger like ringing a bell can either = food or a slap in the face. Well repeatedly doing that to a dog can really have negative effects on them! As small as their brains are, they're still smart enough to know what some consequences are coming from their actions. :(
