My abuser is studying to be a lawyer... he was a doctor when he molasted me. The trial takes for ever. soon 3years now, just beacause he say so much that everyone needs to check before going further... he got the verdict last september. 2 1/2 years in prison.. but he appealed. We are two girls that are in this trial against him. And we recently found out that he is spending his days in the free life stydying to be a lawyer. he has fired the past lawyers he had in the trial... so I guess this will never be over. He will be his own lawyer.. or is that even possible? I don`t know... the trial is also in norwegian media.

@lostforgottonsoul

Thank you, this was very helpful.

I am now more puzzled than ever why the universities allowed him into this particular program, given the practicum requirements.

Maybe they restricted his practicum to treating only adult males? Even so, his practicum was in Trauma; given many trauma clients have CSA histories, it's still difficult to understand.

It may have been applied, turned down, applied etc until he got in.

If he wasnt living in dorms and he didnt pose a threat they might not have cared. The point of me posting that is yes they background check but though they do, most get through because they just dont care.

Thank you, Lost. It was eye-opening.

He applied to a number of universities and got accepted to three. So, essentially, yes, he applied over and over until he found a slot.

If he wasnt living in dorms and he didnt pose a threat they might not have cared.

But he could easily pose a threat to the clients, and they are a much more vulnerable population than a dorm full of supposedly healthy adults.

Still, as you said, the big problem is that no one cares. Guess these private universities are more interested in making money than anything else.

Ben

The issue is the Uni doesnt really care.

...or, they don't until a victim or advocate comes along to complain.

Here's something: The second university allowed him to earn his doctorate, teach, TA, do research and career counseling - in other words, they took his money and made even more off him (student temp employees are cheaper than tenured staff) - and yet when he graduated, they didn't offer him a position. They thought he was 'wonderful' in every way, right up to the moment he was ready to apply for a permanent, professional position. Now they are silent. They are neither offering positions nor endorsing him for positions elsewhere. This tells me they recognise him as a liability.

The only job offers he has even interviewed for are customer service call center positions.

Which I find odd as well as I work as internet & PC tech support in a call center and have worked call centers all my life. Most do background checks and all (almost all) do drug tests as well as pop drug tests as big addicts go through call centers.

But either way, Im retreating to my last post before, alert whom you can but bring more focus back on you and off of him.
