We've had some stories before so it might be good to have a thread to expose how these posers were dealt with in case you run into one yourself. I know it can really piss us off but it is a growing problem these days with all the public support and positive attention that attract these phonies. In the end they cost us all by their fraud.

I saw that on TV CBG and loved the video, especially how the real vet dressed him down.:ROFLMAO: Thanks for sharing!

Today it's cool to be a vet. Veterans and their problems is a cottage industry. So along with it come the poser scum bags.

When I got home people spit on me in the train station for serving in Vietnam. People wouldn't hire me because I was a combat vet and they were afraid I'd 'go off' on someone. If I saw one of these pieces of shit there'd be some serious ass kicking going on. I say, put them in the service for 4 years with at least 3 combat tours. They want to be a soldier, give them the real taste of it. Or just f*cking torture and kill them. I'm good either way. Rant over.............for now.

These turds aren't even worth jack shit but a swift back hand, cut his uniform off his fat body with a pair of scissors in the mall and let him walk out nude.

Hence the stolen valor laws... we do not have time for this drama, we can only enjoy when it is manifested

Gross.

@JarHed & @DrBlack <grin> I like what I'm reading here boys. 2 damn fine options. PoserPlatoon after stripped buck naked & run out. I couldn't even answer last night. Just felt nauseous.

Serious question for anyone closer to the Corps than I am... Can Marines wear camis off base these days? When I was in you got in serious shit wearing your BDUs out in town. Even to pick up meds at the pharmacy or pumping gas ran some serious risk of an NJP to 'splain yo'self (and those were 2 exceptions). Better to strip down to PT gear than get caught out. Seen a few around recently and it's just been like... WTF? Have they lifted that rule?

Damn. We just don't have that issue here in Denmark. Soldiers are not cool here, and nether are the missions. So we do not have all that "shake hands and thanks" thing...

Hey Friday

When I was in the Corps you couldn't leave base in your 'work uniform'. It has to be uniform of the day for either season. So, I don't know if that's changed as I've seen Marines off base in their utilities.

The 'shake hands and thanks' thing is only very recent here. I think, personally, it's just another politically correct maneuver to make something 'look' like people care. In the end it's still the family and friends of Soldiers and Vets that actually care. When I get the 'thanks for your service' thing from people I want to tell them their a bit late, about 40+ years. I just kinda' smile and nod. So, I can relate more to where you're at than here. Service to one's country will always be an honorable thing to me.

At some point after OEF & OIF kicked off battle dress became the uniform-of-the-day almost everywhere and then we were permitted to wear battle dress (camo) uniforms off base. About the time the Army went to issuing everyone berets for recruiting, the battle dress started including almost everyone, non-combat specialties and Generals, unless they were meeting with Congress. Then we went through the contractor bidding war to get every service a unique set of camis (BDU, ACU, ABU, etc). A lot of those first runs were rushed and crap, the contractors really took DoD to the cleaners. Eventually some services began to require class B's once a week with the warning that eventually it would go back to 4 days a week and when the "conflict" is officially ended, no more camo off base. But, now it is "cool" to wear them all the time, everywhere so it may stick as a recruiting ploy for an indefinite period. It has defaulted to the standard uniform of the day mostly for the time being but some services still require class B's once a week or for certain specialties. Some folks in more administrative roles, especially around DC have gone to class Bs 4 times a week. We tended to look down upon them as gweebs because they don't really have more than one set of battle dress because they never deployed, nor will they ever. Now with the terrorist threats against military we could see the military restricting wear again, of any uniform
