Three years ago, I was riding my bike without a helmet and crashed. I had a relatively bad concussion and woke up after passing out. After going to the ER, we were told that it would take at least 3 years to recover.

I went to several doctors about dealing with very high anxiety levels and feeling weightless. I had several bad anxiety attacks afterwords to the point of feeling like I was going to pass out. Despite all the doctors I have gone to in the past 3 years, my anxiety is still very bad. I don't have as many anxiety attacks anymore.

To add to all of this, my PTSD has caused me to be severely afraid of flying on planes. As soon as I get to the boarding gate, I get so anxious that I almost have a panic attack. I got so anxious once, that I caused my family to have to get off the plane before takeoff by order of the flight attendant. I am beginning to worry that I might never be able to fly again. I need some tips and help. Also, I'm 14.

Hi, I'm so sorry for all that you are going through. Brain injuries can be so tough to endure and recover from. This has gone on a really long time, but you are also still really young and that helps brains heal. Learning grounding skills and mindfulness, and some exposure or EMDR therapy for the fear of flying might really help. Are you working with a good therapist?
