Site Revamp - If You Could Change One Thing?

I guess if people want to look for me fine, but I don't want to be flying my diary on people's home page. If one could get over it, the quirky aspects, I expect no one would be here. I have to look at how this affects my sense of "safety"... which of course was an illusion but one that was beneficial for me, and see if I can make the transition.

@anthony, I can't recall where the thread is where you asked for a wish list for features we'd like to see. If it's not too late, I have one to add. There are a lot of very long threads, which got long because there is such good information on them, but as it is to find information in the middle of those threads you have to click two pages forward or two pages behind at a time. Would it be possible to put in a feature so we can search for, say, page 23 in a 50-page thread without having to click through a whole lot of pages? Thanks! Hope the work on the site is not too stressful.

I have a feeling it changed when you changed the forums last time, so I'm guessing it's just something that comes with whatever you use for that. But I find it quite useful when the date of the last post on a forum is shown (where the total number of posts on a forum is currently). It enables me to see when there is new activity on the specific forums that I want to look at, at a glance.

You can already go to a specific page, if known, by using the arrow in the pagination:

From a search perspective, it is impossible to narrow search beyond the thread, which is already catered as a search function when inside a thread.

Whilst content may be valuable to you, it isn't to another, which is why we have a bookmarking feature for premium members, which allows them to bookmark any content they find valuable and easily reference it.

But I find it quite useful when the date of the last post on a forum is shown
You can already see whether something new is posted in a forum since you last visited, simply by looking at the colour. It changes when there is unread content within it. You can mark an entire forum as read from within it, then when something new is posted, you know. Having the date, or any other information, on the forum home per forum, is just cluttering the screen real estate.

they've just fallen off the homepage is all:
Is the homepage finished now? I've yet to look at it on PC, so it might just be the device I use to access the site, but there is a huge amount white space on bottom left of screen - room to fit several more article headers. As you were building it/adding more in, I was expecting it to fill up.

Are the articles that are on the homepage now ones that you have chosen too prioritise for the home page, or will they swap about periodically to show different articles?

The homepage is not finished. When completed I will announce it. Saying that, you shouldn't have any whitespace on a phone, as most of the content is stripped for mobile viewing and less is shown than if using a tablet or above.

If using a tablet, then you will likely have whitespace on the left side because it isn't finished, and there is more content going in on the left.
