You lust after nice things, I have to admit, the Kimber seems like the logical direction for the model 1911 to morph into. Here's a story for ya about a military issue Colt .45 auto. Military issue 45's were always sorta sloppy in the tolerance area, just because most of them had been around forever in the Army. After being in hot water for beating up my platoon sargeant, they sentenced me to day guard in the bunker that the Vietnamese fishermen had to pass to get to the ocean for the day. I was issued a 45 every morning for defense. After the fishermen had all checked in and passed, a Vietnamese boy would always come up and sit with me. That area had BIG lizards almost as large as Kimodo Dragons. Sometimes they would start advancing on my bunker. I saw one headed toward the bunker and told the boy-san, "If I shoot that dragon for you to take home for dinner tonight, you bring your sister back tomorrow for me, OK?" He agreed. The dragon was about 40 yards away, I leaned over the sandbags, took aim, drew in a breath, let half of it back out, and squeezed the trigger. The dragon didn't flinch and I thought I missed it completely, but it didn't move anymore either. The boy-san went down and checked it out, and carried and dragged it back up to the bunker to show me. It was still alive, but I had stunned it completely by shooting it's left eye out and grazing it down to the bone. He was amazed and I didn't show it, but so was I. The little shit never did bring his sister back tho, dammit!! I've never believed it when anyone has stated that the 45 isn't accurate, that day proved it. Of course I had sniper training and was Company Sniper for about 6 months, that might've helped.
I guess I should clarify, I qualify with my Sig, where big and bulky and exposed hammers don't get in the way of response time, this is what I carry, the Glock 27.Link Removed
and now, since the time limit has expired on the ban of the sale of high capacity clips, it's loaded with a 15 round clip. Because I belong to an outlaw motorcycle club, and live in the middle of the new home of the hells angels mc, and we've been at war for the last 20 years, concealed carry is a daily thing for me, like remembering to put my shoes on. I need to have something comfortable and the Sig just poked and prodded me way too much. My Glock has an internal hammer, it's 1 1/2 inches shorter, even lighter than the Kimber, and with the longer magazine with extra finger grips, it just feels so right.
Now that you're asleep, I'll pass............ to you.....

Wicked shot!!! Wow, that had to impress! It's got to be one of those times where you wish you had a little more of an audience ;-)
I dig the Glock! I added it to my wish list (my annversary is coming up, hope hope!).
My uncle was in the Hells Angels in Arizona in the '70's-'80's. He and his now wife were in a serious accident and he can't ride anymore. He relocated and has been dying of boredom ever since. He's also a Vietnam Vet.
The Glock is lighter than the Kimber? Hmmm... time to go to the range! :-)
