I used to be very artistic before I joined the Army. Over the past month, I've gotten back into drawing.

Morrigan from Dragon Age. I banged this one out pretty quickly last weekend.

For a creative writing class I'm taking in college, I wrote a short story that takes place in year 2087. This is the main character. Wow, guns are hard to draw, especially since that's supposed to be a laser gun. :p Ignore the fact it doesn't seem to have a trigger. And my boyfriend says it's phallic. I cropped the whole thing because there are some crappy doodles all over the page. I kind of rushed through the face and hair because I had to turn in the story on Thursday and I wanted to include the concept art so I was working on a deadline!

Nice work. I love your drawings. You've got a good eye for proportion and they don't look flat.

If you have a chance you might think about a drawing class where you work from a model. I have an MA and spent a great deal of time doing just that, I found it very helpful. It teaches you to look, think and interpret what you see.

Early in that career I spent a lot of time doing portraits as it was a way to make some money. I really like landscapes of all kinds. Had a couple of shows but couldn't navigate the politics. Never been good at that.

Oh, and doodling is just your minds way of telling you that you want to draw more.

Thanks, Raven's shading is much better, but in my defense I thought I'd be a comic book artist so it would be all black and white with no grey.
