untiltoday , I like some Eminem songs, Toy Soldiers is one of my favourites and I relate to a lot of it (especially the video, it strikes a chord in me), but I don't think I've heard the ones you put up. I will give them a listen to.
Sober - P!nk
I don't wanna be the girl who has to fill the silence.
The quiet scares me 'cause it screams the truth.
Please don't tell me that we had that conversation;
I won't remember, save your breath, 'cos what's the use?
Ah, the night is calling,
And it whispers to me softly come and play.
I am falling,
And If I let myself go I'm the only one to blame.
I'm safe
Up high
Nothing can touch me,
But why do I feel this party's over?
No pain
Inside,
You're like perfection
But how do I feel this good sober?...
Looking for myself, sober.
I love Lily Allen. I could pretty much post lyrics from every song on her second album (I might have posted these before? I can't remember).
The Fear - Lily Allen
I want to be rich and I want lots of money.
I don't care about clever, I don't care about funny.
I want loads of clothes and f**kloads of diamonds -
I heard people die while they're trying to find them.
And I'll take my clothes off and it will be shameless,
'Cause everyone knows that's how you get famous.
I'll look at The Sun and I'll look in The Mirror,
I'm on the right track, yeah I'm on to a winner.
I don't know what's right and what's real anymore,
And I don't know how I'm meant to feel anymore.
And when do you think it will all become clear?
'Cause I'm being taking over by the fear.
Johnny and Mary - Robert Palmer (the Placebo cover is really good too)
Johnny says he's willing to learn
When he decides he's a fool.
Johnny says he'll live anywhere,
When he earns time to.
Mary combs her hair,
Says she should be used to it.
Mary always hedges her bets,
She never knows what to think,
She says that he still acts like he's
Being discovered.
Scared that he'll be caught
Without a second thought.
Running around...
Johnny's always running around
Trying to find certainty.
He needs all the world to confirm
That he ain't lonely.
