OneAndOnlyMOM, It's so nice you shared and so great you're feeling positive! You've obviously inspired a lot of people. :)
As for yoga, it took me FOREVER to get into it, and I still tend to always say to myself, "No, maybe later," whenever I know I should do it. But, after doing yoga a lot, it does get easier, and you can get out of your head and into the breathing eventually (I have so many problems just breathing, it's pathetic! I could tell you stories... ;) But that's why I think I NEED yoga.). I guess, I'm saying... yoga can be extremely beneficial, but if you're at all like me, it takes A LOT of practice. I think the most important thing with exercise is to do what you like... it makes it so much easier!
I love Francie's idea... just try for 5 minutes and see what your body says. That's what I would do, DMerish. And it's really, really, really important not to overthink it. Really, those Nike commercials have a point... "Just Do It!" Every time you think to yourself, "Should I exercise?" you gotta throw out your battle cry, "Just Do It!" Eventually your brain gets on board, if you yell at it enough. (*Joking*) Because, the hardest, hardest part is starting. If you don't think about the starting, and just skip that part, it's easy to exercise, feels good and is always worth it. Oh, and you should always have some reward at the end. It's usually smoothies for me. I like 'em and they're good to refuel my body, too. ;) But anything that works for you as a reward... okay, maybe not anything, let's maybe avoid things like a big piece of chocolate cake. But even if that is what it takes to get you started exercising... hey probably wouldn't be a bad thing anyways, just don't do it every time. (I mean, there's ice cream, too, y'know! (*Joking*))
Hope this helps,
D
