I hope my response doesn't sound unnecessarily harsh or defensive. The majority of members who come here, sufferers and carers alike, come because they need to be here.
It's good you are gaining a degree and a broad base of knowledge in your field of choice. And it's good you'd like to apply that knowledge to the real world and or get some further exposure. But, your initial post triggers a bit of fight in me. I am unsure what your intentions are. And I feel the need to voice a few requests, to protect myself and this place that I value:
Please be respectful that this forum represents an invaluable tool for me in my fight to rebuild a life worth living. Please do not come here trying to save anyone. Please do not come here trying to practice psychology. And please do not treat this space as a classroom. This is not a game. This is my health. This is my life.
If you can respect these boundaries, then welcome to the forums. As is suggested time and again to many new members, whether they be sufferer, carer or as in your case, budding enthusiastic professional: Read. Read. Read. And when you are done reading, read some more. You will learn alot about this disorder in the various sections of this forum.
(And please note that in this post I'm only speaking for myself as a member of this forum. I do not pretend to represent the opinions of either the administrators, the moderators or my fellow forum members.)
