I know it's a small goal in some ways: to have a good day for a birthday party.

We had a great day! I've attached a picture. It had a dog theme and everyone had a really good time painting their paper mache dog. I am grateful to God for the perfect weather. My parents flew in from Chicago for the weekend. Everyone got along. Gotta celebrate those good moments especially when a few of them get stuck together like this!

I'm glad that you had a great day... Awesome paper mache dogs, btw!!!!!!!!

Thank you! It's 3-4 weeks of my life. It helped me be closer to my oldest daughter. We've been buttin' heads a bit. THis healed our relationship a lot!

Good to hear your day went well.

Did you make the dogs to paint, or did you buy them. What a brilliant idea for a party, I have seen paint your own t-shirt or mug party's but this is so different.

You can see the sun streaming through the tree's too.

Hello Amethist,

I made the dogs to paint. The brown paper is grocery paper torn off and glued onto the paper mache. The form is wadded newspaper, held in proper dimensions with painter's masking tape. You can make almost any form from the scrunched up newspapers and the masking tape will hold the paper to that shape. The legs were rolled newspaper. I saw a project on the internet with that process and it really works well. You can give it a try at home. The good news was that this project was really inexpensive as art stuff goes.

Nicolette,

Thank you! I thought that some good news would be enjoyed. It's helpful to notice those times when things actually go right!
