Relationship Sudden Distance

No recent fights, everything good. Two days ago he was telling me I'm his world and he loves me so much to now avoiding/barely talking to me. My mind is going to the worst places.

How long have you been with him? Who has PTSD? Need more info to comment.

2 days is a living hell when you love someone that suddenly grows cold. And you don't know where they are coming from. When I first met my Vet, I was scared he was bipolar. The thing that clued me into the fact that it was something else was the fact he was always rational. Just oddly cold at times. Had I not got on this site, I KNOW I wouldn't have stuck through it. The more I educate myself and watch THE SYMPTOMS that are a huge commonality, I realized that I needed to read between the lines. Once you learn the song, you know how to do the dance. It takes a lot of time and energy. But it can be worth it.

The point I'm making is that it's better to be calm about things until you know what's going on. 95% of the time isolation has nothing to do with the supporter and everything to do with the sufferer's stress levels. Making a mountain out of a molehill or thinking you're in living hell after 48 hours isn't going to help your own mental health, and it's really not going to help your sufferer.

Isolation is a common coping mechanism for a lot of sufferers. Supporters can only decide if they are able to handle it in a relationship, and if so, for how long. This is where boundaries come in.

Shrug. My vet can go from telling me he loves me to telling to go away because he can't stand the sight of my face in 2 minutes let alone 2 days. He's "barely" talking to you so he hasn't completely dropped off the face of the earth. (AKA - he appears to be alive).

I'd chalk this up to "the usual" PTSD isolation.
