@desiderata310 Thanks, but I can't take it. I'm one of those that instead of calming me down, it makes me super hyper to the point I could climb walls for about 18 hours.

@joeylittle Just itching so far and tired. I can deal with being tired, but this itching is driving me batty!!!!!

Thanks to both of you!!!!!

Ok, I've decided I can't deal with the itching any longer, as I feel like I'm going to itch my skin off!!!! Anyone have any suggestions??????.

Have you called the dr about this, possibly they have an answer... the only thing I would suggest is a topical itch medicine like calamine lotion, which never worked for me for anything, or google essential oils for itching.... Is the med helping the pain tho???

Would an oatmeal bath or calamine lotion help? I'm guessing no, since it's probably more about the nerves under the skin...you could also try putting on an astringent, or something like noxema (if they still make it).

@ladee Yes, I think the med is working, so I'm hesitant to call the dr, thinking that they might say to stop it. I'm hoping the itching is just temporary and will calm down.

Ok, so maybe this isn't the best way to look at this, but the thoughts of a needle going into my hip isn't pleasant either!!!!:woot:

Would hydroxyzine help with the itching? They use it for allergic reactions, hives, etc. It is an antihistamine (but not benadryl). It can be good for anxiety as well.

Severe itching can also be a sign of liver issues. Since it is a drug that can cause liver problems you might want to mention it to your doctor. Itching can be one of the first signs of a liver problem.

Medication isn't working. I'm in so much pain that I'm ready to get the chain saw out and cut off a portion of my body. The one thing it is doing.... I'm so tired my ass is dragging but the itching isn't too bad. Or I'm so f*cking tired I just don't notice.... 6 months of this shit and I'm about done...

Well, it's been 2 weeks since starting the Tegretol.... The itching isn't as bad, some days are worse than others. And the pain.... I have good days, bad days, but for the most part, MORE good days than bad. So, I do think it's working, but it's just going to take some time.

The tiredness...... Well, that's a whole different story.... I'm dragging my ass and around 2 every afternoon, I want to crawl into bed! I don't, but want too. So, buy 7 at night, I'm usually asleep, as I am having a hard time staying awake. I honestly don't know HOW I am going to be able to handle an increase in 2 weeks.

Did blood work on Friday and if it's off, I suspect he will call me next week, if not then I see neurologist on the 14th for a check in......

My advice to everyone......... DON'T GET OLD!!!!!!!

:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao: That sage advice is too late for me!
But thanks for that profound wisdom.
Think the younger ones have access to better self care than we did. Learning how to reduce stress, ect.

Am very happy to hear the meds are working. You are probably so exhausted from the constant pain your body is playing catch up.
Happy you are feeling better.
Let us know test results.
Sending hugs from one old lady to another old lady.

@ladee OLD LADY???? Shit, I'm beyond that my friend. I feel older than dirt some days....
