The Chatroom Is Pretty Cliquey/selective. What Gives?

There seem to be a lot of anonymous posts lately about people complaining about the site or people on the site or features of the site.

I can say from visiting other forums that this is the most widely supportive site out there. Many have a handful of members who dominate every thread, hijack threads, and so on. Here, there are so many members, you can almost always count on someone responding and offering support.

Put quite eloquently i think - thank you.

Whats next, complaints that some people dont start new threads, dont respond or give advice or only join in on the social threads for example the word games.
Surely the site/ forum is there to use as people wish ( as long as they do so within the guidelines )
I think the volume of responses demonstrate that people do have a voice and that people listen.

If you notice, people choose to engage more in controversial topics like this one and the booming political forum.

Other stuff sometimes falls to the wayside.

So it's not as simple as saying that the OP is wrong because this thread has a lot of replies.

There are a number of threads that are active and new right now that have not much input.

i enjoy chat, i always say hi and welcome people who join. I rarely share or post a problem and i do like to have fun and upbeat discussions and chats. If someone wants help i will do what i can.
Now feeling a little uncomfortable as others will be observing to point fingers at the 'cliques' , which i will add i am not part of. Have enough to think about without the worry of this, not what i would expect from a forum made up of people who should understand.

I am a regular in the chat. I believe that people know my screen name when they see it. However, I make it a point to say hello to everyone that enters the chat, and ask them how they are doing. One thing that drives me nuts however is when 5 or 6 people are all talking about the same thing and then someone enters the chat and comes out of left field with something completely off the wall. If you are going to join the conversation that is fine; I can only speak for myself, but I'm sure you would be welcomed. What doesn't work is expecting the conversation to drop dead and completely revolve around you just because you entered the room. Who do you think you are? Try staying on topic when you post and see the difference in attitude you get, it might amaze you.

I agree, I posted two different ones not long ago. I got one response in one and two in the other. But I didn't go cutting people up or call people clicky. I moved on. It didn't work that time, hopefully it will the next. I didn't get the answers I wished for and I didn't put people down, calling them a cliché. I always welcome new members, try and get to know them. I will look at threads if they come up and do welcomes when Ms Spock and others post. I'm hoping the person who started this post, didn't mean it as a attack on the people in chat. There's enough people in the world attacking each other. I don't think we need it hear to.

I have no idea. I am new since yesterday and everyone has responded to most everything. Have you tried blending into the current discussion? I think you can start a new topic on your own, like a blog, but I am not running on all cylinders right now.

The problemis even if I've tried to do lighthearted chit chat, I still get ignored.

It's certain members.

I watched myself be criticised by a member now banned. He twisted absolutely everything I had said to him in pc's And no one stopped him that night.

People need to take care what they say on there, witnessing that hurt me very very much as it was slander.

I am unsure why you have spoken to me in such a way. It's likely you've got the wrong person. If not, you have absolutely no idea what that member was actually like. I was simply putting across that even though I wasn't in chat I could still see everything that was being typed and I felt totally powerless to do anything about it. The member done the same sort of thing to several others, so you clearly coulfdn't see through them.
