Super Bowl 1991 half time show. 😳 It’s both funny and distasteful at the same time. Gives me flashbacks to living in those times.

“And now to honor our armed forces, Coca-Cola presents New Kids On The Block!”

LMFAO… I’d totally forgotten about that.

I was in a DoD school overseas, at the time, and the year before (1990) all classes were suspended for a week to learn this New Kids dance routine??? Choreography on Monday, then each class was filmed on Friday. “Winners” were chosen by class… even though DoD school meant that 3/4s to 4/5ths of the kids who “auditioned” were in another country by autumn, with all new students cycled in, and most of the rest gone by xmas.

The teachers were really hipped on it, though, because winning classes got Super Bowl tickets, airfare, hotels, etc. So even if all of their “winning” students cycled out? They still got to go along with their current class. 🤣

@Friday I found out that this half time show wasn’t aired live. The Gulf War updates were shown during halftime and then snippets of the disney-coke-kids-war extravaganza were portioned out throughout the evening after the game ended.
